One-liner Wednesday September 16, She may have no recollection you came that day, but she knows how very much you love her, Alzheimer’s stare…

“I want to tell you how much I miss my mother. Bits of her are still there. I miss her most when I’m sitting across from her.”

My beautiful mother-in-law-, she is deteriorating by the day. We just keep on showing up, and loving her because we get to do the next right thing. Be present! We all have one common bound we all just want to be loved!

    1. I see how this effects my husband so much, he loves his mom so much! All the memories of his youth. He adores her, and she him. Yet we go, and call and she doesn’t even remember us being there. It breaks his heart, yet he sees her because she feels loved in that moment. As well it is so needed for him to be present for her. It is hard stuff for sure! His grace with her is beautiful! His love amazing, and all we can do is show up. Blessings, thank you for sharing 💜 Lisa

    1. Thank you for the kind words! This is our life, and we get to be present today! So that we will be, there was time we were far from present. Praising God for our daily reprieve! God has all of this! Blessings, thank you again. 💜 Lisa

  1. We went through a similar journey recently with my mom and now that she’s with the Lord, I’m so thankful that we were able to be present with her on several occasions … hard as it was at times, I now think of it as a gift to ourselves as much as to her.

    1. That is exactly how we approach the situation with her. What a gift to be present. My husband’s dad passed 9 months ago, it has been a long year for so many. So blessed we are believers. My husband is talking to his mom now, she is sun downing and so confused. He is so kind, and patient with her. She says she is very depressed. God be with us all, thank you reading. As well commenting. Life is not all sunshine, and rainbows. These are the things that grow us as a family. Blessings 💜 Lisa
