Today was 53 degrees, a day made for long sleeves. It was not rainy so we set out for something to do. We went to an Arboretum. I felt as if I was in a botanical dreamland.
The trees shouted with color. Hot pink, mustard yellow, crimson red, and emerald green, all colors seen. The woodsy garden was showing off in every way. All shapes, and sizes these trees all in deserve of the best kept prizes.
One so magnificent it towered over me, and the hang of its branches wise in its years. It seemed noble compared to all the other forestry. Arrest my heart in the steal of my stare. So mighty, and tall way up there. It was obvious its boast.
Kindred spirits everywhere, families gathered with photographers in their best autumn outfits. For a moment it was as if Covid didn’t exist. Mom’s, dad’s, and kid’s side by side on tree branches grinning as they said “cheese”. Couples cuddled in the arbors nest. Love was in the air, and it bounced off each trees perfection.
My husband, and I hand in hand as if it was for a moment just our land. It was definitely fall weather, and we dressed the part. We were smart, except we didn’t match the woodsy art. We were set apart from all the people in visit of the park today. We missed the memo to wear only harvest apparel. But hey we were like two kids, as we laid in the leaves. We allowed to be caught up in whimsical play. Long sleeved we snuggled, and were caught in the bounce of the love that was in the air of each trees perfection.
Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. 1 Chronicles 16:33
