I am deathly allergic to Turkey, yep for real what a thrill!

Fun fact; I am severally allergic to Turkey. I have been since I was a little girl. My mom chalked it up to the flu every holiday we had.

As I became an adult lying on the bathroom floors of my in-laws praying the Lord would soon take me, I decided to get allergy tested.

I am such joy to have over, and I bring festivity if I am eating at anotherโ€™s house. So yes I am allergic to Turkey. I have to be very careful going to Potlucks. A lot of people like to substitute Turkey for Hamburger.

As well my list of allergies goes on, and on. All very serious life threatening, anaphylactic reactions. Jolly right! Hall out the Holly, wait I might be allergic.

Well I tell you this it makes it very hard for me to farctate at all. I honestly think of it as a good way to not over indulge. Now I do miss strawberries, and a lot of chocolate has tree nuts (I adore chocolate). So you win some, and you lose some. The older I get the more allergies that I get too.

I will say I am trying hard not to hold a resentment with my mom for not catching on to my Turkey allergy, I mean come on 3 times a year I was deathly ill. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Š. Those were the days you just put a bandaid on everything. I am grateful I got it figured out in my adult life. Hey you wanna have me over for great big giant dinner, and watch how I can only eat a dinner roll. It is quite the show ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ

You learn to roll with the punches, thank God I love ham. It is my favorite. Turkey is overrated anyways. Blessings all, and stay safe this Thanksgiving!

Donโ€™t give up before the miracle happens! Smile lots, forgive quickly, and never take life for granted!

    1. Ha! Love it! A lot of Vegan foods have nuts in it though. My son is Vegan, it is not fun shopping for him. No offense, he is Vegan Vegan. No straying. I have to get lists from grocery stores for him for his stocking every year. Lol. I love that kid so much! He is my heart! One time I had gravy not thinking it was made from the Turkey juice that was a super fun day (not)! โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฆƒ

  1. If it helps any, I’m allergic to hot dogs! LOL…but seriously, my mom tried everything when introducing finger foods. It all ended up on the other side of the room. I’m supposed to be allergic to milk (dairy), but I drink/eat it. No problems…most of my allergies are seasonal and animal dander. Especially rabbits, short haired cats I can tolerate, can ride horses but as soon as the grooming starts, I have to duck out.
    Thanks for sharing this ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hotdogs oh wow! I bet that was a fun one for your mom. I am such a hoot looking at ingredients on packaging that just got thrown away at peoples houses, because they are not sure what is in it. I canโ€™t be too careful these days! I donโ€™t miss Turkey though, it has been so long since I tasted it. I am severely allergic to Mink. How I found out I will not go into detail it did happen on Christmas though. I slept most of the day with Benadryl racing through my veins. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ

      1. When I was going through chemo, they discovered I was allergic to one of the ingredients. Every chemo day – which was m-f 2 weeks on/ 1 week off for 6 mos – I had benadryl pumped into me. Needless to say, I slept through the chemo days. ๐Ÿ˜ด
I had almost forgotten about that…
At least we’re still here to tell our stories ๐Ÿ˜ have a great rest of your day!
