Until your last breath…

In honor of John Thomas Boyd who passed away 11/24/2019 at 11:17 am. Pops it was such a blessing to get to be your daughter in law for the time we had together.

Thank you for loving me like your own, you were quite a man. You had such an engaging personality. Always flirting with the nursing staff at your assisted living, and always the comic relief.

I have never been with anyone when they took their last breath, but there we sat. Knowing you were almost ready to go meet Jesus. As we recited the Serenity prayer, the peace that fell over the room was unimaginable. Then we went right into the Lord’s Prayer.

Your head had faced the wall for 4 straight days, and as you drew your last breath you turned in look of Brad and I. You took us in, and your last breath as well. You were gone just like that.

We had so much peace knowing you believed in God, and Jesus died for you. For us it meant you were free of the pain, and you were probably dancing away to Sinatra. We will always love you, and you will always be a part of us until we meet again. I love you. I miss you calling us up needing more honey, peanut butter, and crackers…

Dad only ate the Bear Honey, him doing his commercial for us 🤣
Happy 4th of July pops!
Thank you for your service!
Our wedding day, you wouldn’t have missed it for anything. Look at that smile
11/24/2019 gone to be with Jesus ❤️

  1. When someone we love who know Jesus passes away, it is not goodbye. It is see you again. Still these kind of anniversaries bring a lot of memories and emotions. Prayed for you and your husband

  2. What an awesome piece! A mixture of varied feelings.

I’m sorry for your loss. But he was surrounded by people he loved and who loved him too. Now, he’s singing with the angel’s and my Dad in worship of The Lord they lived for.

It’s goodnight to them until we meet again in that celestial city of endless love 💝❤, joy, peace 🕊 laughter 😃😃and worship 🛐.
Thank you for sharing, dear friend.

May God be with you and your family during this time. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

    1. Yes indeed! Indescribable, and I can’t wait for the day we reunite with the ones who went home before us. All we needed was the know his heart belonged to Jesus. Once we for sure knew that, we could rest at the cross as he passed into Jesus’s arms. It was surreal for sure. Something I will never forget, and very hard. It is such an odd day, we are grieving and celebrating.

As well got a call that my husband’s mom now is being Covid tested because her floor at her assisted living has many people with it. She is 85 years old. Her mind is going, and we will want to have this talk with her.

It will most likely be childlike, but what odd times we live in. I just keep on holding on to Jesus is trying to wake His people up. Wake us up Lord, May we keep on keeping on. His will be done!

Thank you for reaching out, and God bless you and yours! Happy Thanksgiving ❣️❤️❣️God bless you!

  3. Oh, Lisa!! I’ve got tears in my eyes. The first anniversary is the hardest one! Thank God that your Father went to Jesus before the nightmare of family unable to be with their loved ones while dying. I’m shaking. Sorry. This post hit home. Both of my parents are gone. (((HUGS))) xoxo

    1. Thank you so very much, and yesterday was actually an okay day. We have my husband’s mom being she is being 85 being tested for Covid. People on her floor at her assisted living have it. We can’t see her, they are on lockdown. Then my mom was in the E.R all day yesterday. She is only 68, and she has some major health stuff going on. I don’t know hard times, but nothing God will not see us through. I appreciate you kind heart.
God bless! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so much to be thankful for, God bless you and yours!
